It was a stable as well as an ammunition dump. It was even given as a residence to a European army person with Ranjit Singh. We discuss the various issues all the time. The need was there to repair the golden pinnacles of the mosque. But as the metal was soft, diligent welding was required under the head of copper welding. It was more like TANKAS done to every day utensils. Knowing the responsibility of this job, he did the work in excellent manner. Even today his grand children run the shop outside Urdu Bazaar Chowk speak in a grand manner of their past.
