It gives us incredible information. A bilingual inscription found in the vicinity of Somnath in Gujarat, which had a Sanskrit version preserved in the temple of Harsaya in Verawal., The inscription refers to a Muslim community living in Somnath, and it is dated 662 AH or 1263 AD. (date copied from published source only)<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Sanskirit version has a reference to Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), as &#8216;THE TEACHER OF THE SAILORS who live near the Holy Temple of VISWARATHA&#8217;. Such references indicate presence of Muslim communities living in many parts in India and communicating with local people &#8220;in understandable and acceptable terms&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In this respect we also have the Mosque of Abdul Qasim bin Al Iraji, with an Arabic inscription dated 685 AH, 1286 AD.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4182\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4182\" style=\"width: 254px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.chughtaimuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Muhammed-bin-Qasim-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4182\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.chughtaimuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Muhammed-bin-Qasim-2-254x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"254\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.chughtaimuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Muhammed-bin-Qasim-2-254x300.jpg 254w, http:\/\/blog.chughtaimuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Muhammed-bin-Qasim-2-768x909.jpg 768w, http:\/\/blog.chughtaimuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Muhammed-bin-Qasim-2-865x1024.jpg 865w, http:\/\/blog.chughtaimuseum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Muhammed-bin-Qasim-2.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 254px) 100vw, 254px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4182\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Muhammed bin Qasim<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p align=\"justify\">There is a possibility that the teacher of sailors is not reference to the Prophet (PBUH) but to a local leader Muhammed son of Muhammed bin Qasim, who certainly could be referred as the teacher of sailors in this context.
