But names which people took along with their immediate ancestors, do not go away. Hyderabad Deccan had strong links with the new country of Pakistan, and it is reputed that the Nizam of Hyderabad had decided to accede to the State of Pakistan. Nowadays under attack by extremists, PM Jawaharlal Nehru did the greatest service to India by annexing the State of Hyderabad with an actual army invasion. Of Course greed played a part in it as the allure of Nizam’s wealth motivated many. But so many Hyderabadi came to Pakistan and enriched our State with their intellect and passion for Islamic values.

Such was the relation of artist M.A. Rahman Chughtai with the State of Hyderabad. Sir Akbar Hydari the Prime Minister was a great friend of the artist and the Nizam of Hyderabad an important patron of the artist. In fact his daughter in law Princess Durre Sheywar was an even more important patron. The eminent British journalist Beverley Nichols in his book “Verdict on India”, calls Chughtai Sahib as the greatest artist of India, as well as temed him as a Hyderabadi artist. But the links do not stop here. It seems Khuldabad, next to Aurangabad, hosts the mausoleums of Ustad Ahmad Mimar Lahori, and the most recent discovery, the mausoleum of Lutufullah Ahmad Muhandis, stylized there as Mirza Lutufullah Baig. The stereotype expression comes to mind, “Blood is thicker than water.”

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 We do know that Qaleem ullah sent another colleague to Aurangabad and we may find links till then enjoy brand new earth shaking research. Most professionals like Sheikh Ramazan are even allergic to these references from fear of wrath of Modi inspired extremists. In fact last year even the grave of Emperor Aurangzeb was indeed under existential threat. The issue of two nations under constant threat. We will survive this too.

Recently electrical connection given to mausoleum and white brick blockade to entrance replaced by modern wooden door with present padlock.
